Trident on Slim - Banks not powering up?

Postby zoido » Thu Jul 05, 2012 12:57 pm

I have installed my trident and it is now successfully booting the GREEN bank.

However RED and BLUE do nothing.

It seems that the NAND has uploaded successfully to both RED and BLUE as Nandpro states it has uploaded. ( I uploaded a glitched nand to blue and blue LED does nothing but GREEN still boots suggesting it isnt uploading to the same NAND bank.)

I'm using an alt point as the point nearest C174 has lost its stick. Using eighth pin from the left on what I'm guessing is the original nand bank chip.

Any suggestions greatly recieved? Could it be the ribbon from the switch to the chip? ;)

Yep.

Yesterday I tried installing via QS but the chip isn't greatly aligned and I think I bridged the connection. So I took it out, got scared, and reverted back to RGH2 stand alone. Worked again fine.

Woke up today and tried again but this time wire installation. A lot further ahead this time. REDBOXMODS is being very helpful... I stupidly didn't check the on board banks for bad blocks and have now written over them. I assumed wrong, that as they were blank they'd be fine. Over looked the instruction bit :(

Just went over my soldering once more and now my GREEN bank has stopped working

not dumping nands prior to flashing is a huge no no lol, but if you went over soldering and its now your retail nand is not working are sure your not bridged some where ? photos help.

second the switches for the tridents have been known to have issues, try pressing down on the metal part when the switch is on your green nand and see if it boots.

Livid I missed it... I followed the instructions closely, obv got too excited near the end!

Re re sodered and original is back. So where it was bridged yest had bridged again.

Will wiping the nand banks and the reading them be the same, or is that it now?

Both banks cannot be read by LPT. In nandpro it is not able to read back both BLUE and RED. Comes up with errors straight away.
