Trident seems to have stopped working

Postby Trunjent » Thu Jun 21, 2012 12:54 am

Hi all, hope somebody might be able to help with this problem.

Have a Trident installed and working from pretty much launch in a slim with no real problems until now.

With the update 15574 here i decided to update the LDV on 2nd (blue) nand by adding 1 to it, all went fine when writing the new image to the nand
So I switched to the online (green) nand to connect to live and update it online but it would not boot just the power button sound, try switching back to the blue
nand and the same thing happened tried the red nand too that has rgloader on it and the same. Tried to read the nands with my nand-x but could not.
Get this message

Flash Config: 0x00000000
Can not Continue
Can not continue

Unplugged console and tried again (it was on blue nand when plugged back in) Same results on all.

Unplugged console again but on green nand when plugged back in and it booted up the online nand, went ahead and connected to live and updated, all went fine.

Then I switched to blue nand to test and it wouldn't boot again just the power button sound again, same on all nands again. The only one that will boot is the online (onboard) nand but only after I unplug the console and plug it back in with the green nand selected. I can read this nand with my nand-x and boot it every time once I don't switch to the others at any stage, I know it's not any of the soldering as it's been working fine for months (but just incase I have opened it and checked and all is still fine)

It seems to be that the Trident is not resetting the southbridge and is not letting me access the nands on it to write to or to read as I always get the error above.

Any help much appreciated.

Sorry it's such a long post but want to give as much details as possible.

Don't think the update is the problem as it started before I updated and I have read elsewhere that people with the same setup have done the same and all is good.

from what i understand, you were supposed to update the live nand first, then +1

Don't think that should really matter, when I made the new flash.bin I put it to 9 and when I did a read of the updated online nand it was at 9 also so should be fine. It's the way i've always done it as a patched dash takes some time.

Any clarification on why you think this would be great, I posted this in the support section after all, so I'm trying to get it resolved or at least an understanding of what the problem might be. Thanks.
