I like the idea of closed secret like Cobra, True Blue, etc... If the methodology these companies use is out in the open for anyone to duplicate, then it's easier for Sony to close those exploits from further use. Yeah, it sucks that you have to pay for these devices, but it's a small price to pay to ensure that the exploits in the ps3 architecture aren't further revealed.

I have to agree. I have no problem paying for a dongle. Its the price of a game. No big deal.

You only looking at one aspect of the issue, dongles splinter the cfw scene, and tbh none of them rely on exploits that arn't openly available. There is nothing to close. The only reason to use a dongle is pure profiteering.

you do realize that those dongles do not exploit anything, apart from your wallet...

cobra, used mainly to play ps2 games, whatever method they are using to play those games can't be patched, why? because the feature is present on the firmware that matters, 3.55 and you would never need to update to keep playing those ps2 games.

True blue doesn't even use any exploit or anything, it uses fselfed eboots signed with their keys, if you get the fselfed eboots you can sign it with 3.55 keys, great exploit LOL
