Hello everyone! I stumbled upon your community after purchasing a Cobra USB stick. Unfortunately, my PS3 is already on firmware 4.10, so I made the mistake of buying something that wouldn't work with my system . I would love some input into any solutions that don't involve flashing to downgrade, such as custom firmware, etc. I'm hoping that someone will release a jailbreak for 4.10 soon so I can run my retail discs from my usb drive. Cool. I recently started running homebrew on my Wii and got addicted to it, so I had hoped to do the same with my PS3. Lots of cool stuff out there. Guess Sony's hardware is a little more sophisticated! Oh well, I'll be sure to keep up with this community as everyone seems to be on the cutting edge, so if anything happens I'll hear about it here first.

The wii is fun and cool to mess with. But I call it my family fun console. The PS3 is different gaming for me.

Who knows what will happen with the PS3. A year or so ago we had nothing lol

I know I'd need to downgrade my firmware to get the Cobra working. Does anyone offer that type of service or is it mainly something I'd have to take on on my own? If someone could downgrade for a good price I would be interested.

downgrading generally involves soldering, and is a tedious process, IDK anyone who offers the service, and not all ps3's are downgradeable.

Your ps3 had to come pre 3.56 from the factory or its not possible at all

check craiglist for your area ( could be someone offering the service), E3 is good for nor models (solder-less) & Progskeet I believe does nand & nor (both solder-less with additional equipment)

It's a first gen 20 GB without wi-fi, so pretty old, which hopefully means it'll be flashable. I'll check Craigslist today. Hopefully I'll have some success. Help has been much appreciated
