Downgrading CECH-2501A PS3

Hello guys! I currently have as mentioned in the subject a cech-2501A PS3. I do not know the original firmware it came with as I upgraded the firmware without checking that first. My receipt shows the purchase date of this ps3 at 4.29.2011 so does that mean it came with 3.60 firmware? Is it possible to downgrade my ps3 to firmware 3.55? If so I was thinking of buying a e3 NOR flasher to downgrade it. The reason I want to try the e3 is that its solderless and I could not find another flasher that is solderless. What do you guys think I should go with in regards to downgrading if possible?

I found this link: http://www.ps3crunch.net/forum/archive/ ... 7a382bc406. Supposedly with the program 'minverchk' one is able to determine their original base firmware. So I will try this program out today to see what it has to say about my ps3. Will let you guys know what I find!

I just ran the utility and it appears to work. It advised that "Update data of version 3.50 or later can be installed on this system". So I guess that means I will be able to downgrade to 3.55 firmware!! I think I'll get the e3 NOR flasher to downgrade.

My problem is fat console after downgrading from 3.73 to 3.55.
Downgrade process Ok. System setting -> system information 3.55.
My Blue ray drive is broken, not remarry. For remarry i need to downgrade to 3.15.
My ps3 fat checked with minvercheck show 2.70.
I put lv2diag.self from file 1 and 3.15 OFW and nothing . Not way to downgrade from 3.55 to 3.15.
I see 2 different file lv2diag.self. (only etape 1 ) 227kb->dospiedra pack or 366kb yan 2011-> downgrade file 3.55 from usb dongle.
Any idea why not try to downgrade 3.55->3.15 ? maybe process not try without blueray conected to motherboard ?
My blue ray dvd drive work , spin disk but not see original disk in system menu. I read for solution only 3.15 OFW

Are you wanting to remarry your blu-ray drive, or do you just want to downgrade?

There is a great e3 flasher tutorial here - Its highly recommended to watch a couple times first before doing anything.

I finally got an e3 flasher. The only reason for downgrading. Anyhow this thing is seriously the crappiest piece of garbage electronic I've ever used. I'm trying to backup my nor flash and every time after I do a 3x backup of it and check it with e3 nor checker it reports corrupted. I've done this 7x times and completely reattached the solderless clip to my board.... Many hours gone completely wasted. I really don't understand how the guy in the video does the full procedure without any problems. I've noticed others having the same problem with the same response to fix it and that is to re attach the solderless clip. I'm tired of using this. Any one recommend anything else for downgrading purposes?
