PAL PS1 games on NTSC gives error message

Postby sigmaxix » Mon Sep 26, 2011 11:30 pm

I am trying to play BEDLAM, CONSTRUCTOR, KKND: CROSSFIRE, SPACE DEBRIS, X-COM: TERROR FROM THE DEEP, and other Europe-only PS1 games...

Every time I try to start my legitimate imported PS1 black-bottom disks, I get the following error message:
"
You cannot play this game at the current video output seting.
(80028F10)
"
Any idea any way around this? I found some patches to make the games NTSC, applied those and burnt backups of my legitimate imports, and the PS3 still gives that same error message.

Is this a hardware limitation of the backwards compatibility on PS3?

1 game of all I tried works: STAR IXIOM (PAL) with NTSC patch applied. Also, PS2 PAL games work just fine.
