Alright. Dumb moment here. I found a download for the v3 release. Got the pup file here. Now I wanna make sure it isn't just some higher update and some tool's being funny. So I know that bitsbubba has kindly provided check numbers beside each release...

Dummy here has forgetten what those numbers are called, and how he can check that his files are genuine. Hope someone can help!

It was genuine

Man. I'm having no luck with this. Furthest I got was it booting up with your new custom boot, then a lovely screen with no xmb.

So... off to recovery mode. restore. nope. black screen. update ps3. whole load of black screens. option to up screen res from 576p has also stopped coming (my tv is 1080p.)

Cobra's in usb slot 4 of my 60gb. All its little lights are doing their job. Egads. I'm lost. I'm gonna go check out what cobra's got to say.

You may want to do a backup of your PS3 if you have anything to save, then do a hdd format and try again.

Or sometimes I first try OPTION 3 in Recovery mode, then OPTION 4 after that.

Hdd is a new one, I have a backup on my portable one, so that's all cool. I'll try 3 then 4. if not I'll try cobra's crappy cfw again.
